GT Sales & Manufacturing was founded in 1946.
When Nick Onofrio joined the business in 1984, GT was focused on industrial insulation and industrial rubber hose, gaskets, belting, urethane, etc. and operated only in Wichita and Tulsa. At the end of 1985, the business split. Nick took the Wichita operation, and the other owner took the Tulsa operation.
Since then, GT has grown from a handful of people and one location to almost 160 people across four states through both acquisition and organic growth.
Highlights include the acquisition of Ranger Rubber in Omaha, Nebraska, in the early '90s, the merger with Midwest Bolt and Supply in Kansas City, Missouri, in 2000, and the acquisition of Bolts, Etc. in Omaha, Nebraska, in 2015.
After the acquisition of Midwest Bolt and Supply, GT Sales & Manufacturing rebranded itself as GT Midwest in 2001.
Today GT sells a wide variety of materials and supplies into the manufacturing and construction markets throughout the region. The company is headquartered in Wichita.
